CBMC's Strategy Is Every Christian Businessman's Answer To The Great Commission
1 Timothy 2:1, 3-6, 8 NIV “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time. Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.” https://bible.com/bible/111/1ti.2.8.NIV
I have been involved with the ministry of CBMC since 1989. One of the most attractive elements of this ministry to me was the laser focus of their prayer teams. These groups pray specifically for the unsaved men they know by name. Beginning with the ‘ten most wanted’ list they personally create, they then transfer those names to individual prayer cards for sharing with the team so men can pray together for each other’s unsaved men in their lives. The purpose of this prayer is to soften the hearts of men to receive the gospel so that they will be born again and restored to a right relationship with God the Savior in Jesus the Lord. Because it is God’s will for every person to be saved, men at CBMC are praying for specific people to be saved. The prayer time is the first step toward the salvation of these men being prayed for. Step two is inviting them to the lunches that CBMC holds across the country, where Christian businessmen share their stories of coming to faith in Jesus, so that those listening can hear and understand the value and wisdom of repentance and faith in Jesus. CBMC men take men to God in prayer, then take them to lunch to hear how God loves them and wants to reconcile them to Himself, so that they might be saved. All men are commanded by Paul to pray. God commands all Christians to obey the Great Commission, His mission for every child of His, to win the world to Jesus and establish His kingdom upon earth as it is in heaven. Who are we praying for, and who are we taking to lunch to hear the gospel?
